We believe in

Communicate openly and honestly and collaborate with clients and stakeholders with mutual trust and respect.

Provide excellent client service, and be flexible and responsive to our clients’ needs.

Approach each project as a new and unique challenge, and shun formulaic solutions.

Promote design solutions that are based on the best available practices, current research, professional experience, and deep knowledge of local conditions.

Know and apply the latest research and state-of-the-art practices to help clients and communities make the right decisions.

Consider environmental impacts at every step of the design and development process, and apply leading-edge sustainable design and best management practices to minimize them.

Adhering to these principles and processes, Lift[ED] team members have assisted with the design and construction of numerous award-winning projects.  Projects involving Lift[ED] staff have received awards from multiple professional organizations and agencies, including various chapters of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), American Institute of Architects (AIA), Council of Educational Facilities Planners International (CEFPI), United States Green Building Council (USGBC), North Carolina State University, and the Cities of Durham and Raleigh.  Most recently, our projects have received significant recognition, including the first Sustainable Sites Certified (SITES) project in the State of North Carolina (2012) and recognition from Hardscapes North America (HNA) for a national “Best-of-the-Best” project using permeable paving (2012).
